Eyebrow Transplantation

Eyebrow transplantation is a procedure that hair follicles are taken from the donor area and transplanted into the eyebrow area by using FUE technique. This medical application is also known as unshaven transplant, Pen and implanter method, DHI (Direct Hair Implant) method, and robotic hair transplantation.

In addition to the nape of the neck, hairs may be taken from other areas such as arm or breast if necessary.

Before the procedure, an eyebrow design is presented to the patient. Upon the approval of the patient, the operation is planned.

Stages of the Eyebrow Transplantation:

  • The donor area is numbed by local anesthesia. Using very thin punches, grafts are removed one by one.
  • The procedure is performed by a doctor.
  • The number of grafts that can be taken in one session may change depending on the patient.
  • The process may take between 1 and 3 hours depending on the numbers of the number of follicles transplanted.
  • Once the procedure is completed, the doctor makes final checks with the patient and the patient can go back home the day of the operation in normal conditions.

Recovery Process

  • It is very important to protect the transplanted area from any physical trauma (for ex: any hits) for the four-six weeks after the procedure.
  • Following the procedure, the patient should use the medicines suggested by the doctor.
  • Depending on the doctor's decision, the patient may start washing his hair approximately 2-3 days after the procedure.
  • The transplanted eyebrow may partially shed in the following 2-5 weeks after the procedure. These hairs start to grow again in 3 months, and it may take from 6 months or 1 year for the transplanted eyebrow to complete its adaptation process.
  • After the operation, there might be temporary swelling around the eye or eyebrow area. In this case, the doctor would plan the necessary treatment.
  • Depending on the skin, the transplanted eyebrow may be different angle-wise or may grow faster.
  • If necessary, mesotherapy, CGF or PRP treatments could be planned after the procedure based on your doctor’s suggestion.
  • Any traumas such as hitting and scratching within the 4-6 weeks period or not using the suggested medicines regularly, may cause to infections that result in hair loss in the eyebrow transplanted area.

According to the legal regulations, eyebrow transplantation should be performed by a licensed doctor!!!
